B vitamins play a crucial role in numerous bodily functions, including converting food into energy, supporting the nervous system, and maintaining skin, hair and eye health. They are also essential for cell health and growth, including blood cells. B vitamins such as biotin, niacin, pantothenic acid, folic acid and vitamin B12 are particularly important for hair health and growth.
They promote blood circulation to the hair follicles, supply hair cells with nutrients, help prevent hair loss and support the formation of red blood cells, which are important for the transportation of oxygen and therefore for hair growth. Although the direct link between B vitamins and hair growth is not yet fully scientifically proven, many studies and reports show that an adequate supply can promote hair health. A deficiency of certain B vitamins can lead to hair loss, brittle hair and slower hair growth.
