Diode Laser

The diode laser is a form of laser technology that is widely used for hair removal. This type of laser uses semiconductors as a medium to generate light, with wavelengths typically in the 800 to 810 nm range, and also offers options at 755 nm and 1064 nm. These different wavelengths make the diode laser particularly versatile and adaptable for a variety of skin and hair types. The 755 nm wavelength is similarly effective to alexandrite lasers for lighter skin types, while the 1064 nm wavelength, similar to Nd:YAG lasers, is better suited to darker skin types.

The way the diode laser works is based on targeting the light to the melanin in the hair, which heats and ultimately destroys the hair follicles to reduce or eliminate hair growth. By selecting the right wavelength, the laser can be optimized for the specific skin and hair type to ensure the best absorption by the melanin and enable effective treatment.

Treatment with the diode laser usually requires several sessions in order to capture all hairs in their various growth phases and achieve long-lasting hair reduction. One of the main advantages of the diode laser is its efficiency and customizability, which allows for individual treatment depending on hair and skin type. In addition, the method is safe and has a low risk of side effects when used correctly and with the use of cooling systems to protect the skin.
