Minigrafts are small hair transplants that usually consist of 3-4 hair follicles. This technique is used in hair transplants to cover larger areas and increase hair density. Compared to micrografts, which consist of 1-2 hair follicles, minigrafts contain more follicles and are therefore suitable for treating larger bald or thinning areas.
Minigrafts are often used in procedures such as Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT), where a strip of skin is removed from the donor area (usually the back or sides of the scalp) and divided into smaller grafts, including minigrafts.
