TrichoScan is a modern, digital technique for analyzing hair and scalp health. It is a non-invasive method that uses high-resolution digital imaging to measure and analyze various parameters of the hair and scalp. TrichoScan is widely used in dermatology research and clinical practice to assess the condition and density of scalp hair, diagnose hair loss patterns and monitor the effectiveness of hair loss treatments.
When performing a TrichoScan, a special dye is applied to a small area of the scalp to make the hair visible. Digital photos or scans are then taken of this area. The images are analyzed using special software to determine various parameters such as hair density (number of hairs per unit area), hair diameter, hair growth rates and the proportion of hairs in different growth phases.
TrichoScan can therefore be a valuable aid in determining the causes of hair loss more precisely and objectively evaluating the success of treatment methods. It enables doctors and researchers to obtain a detailed picture of a patient’s hair health without having to carry out invasive procedures.
