Due to the specific and individual characteristics of each person’ s body, the question is not easy to answer. However, experience over many years has shown that for the majority of people at least 8 treatments are usually necessary for a successful result, but sometimes it can be more. At the same time, there are cases where the customer is completely satisfied with the results after just 6 or 7 treatments because the hair has become significantly less or has been thinned out by the laser treatments and therefore stops having treatments for the time being. However, we always recommend at least 8 treatments to our customers and also communicate clearly and transparently during the consultation that it can sometimes be more.
Important to understand: The laser can only successfully treat hair that is in the anagen phase or active growth phase. During a session, this is usually around 15 to 25 percent of all hair. After about 5 to 8 weeks, another part of the hair roots becomes active and can now be treated. For this reason, it takes several treatments at the right intervals to hit the majority of hairs in their growth phase and permanently destroy up to 85% of the roots. In addition to the anagen phase, there is also the catagen phase (transition phase) and the telogen phase (resting phase), which precisely determine the life cycle of a hair, see illustration.
